Seedlings and Saplings are multi-age groups
Greenwood Tree offers multi-age groups for both SEEDLINGS and SAPLINGS to encourage the building of lifelong relationships and the forming of a strong community.

Inclusion Statement
Greenwood Tree welcomes individuals of all races, religions, and national origins in its admissions and education programs (without regard to race, ethnicity, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, marital status, the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability, use of a trained guide dog or service animal by a person with a disability, and/or status as a veteran).

Lunch and Snacks
SEEDLINGS will share a simple snack before going outside to play and will have a main snack at 11:00 AM. The SAPLINGS will have snack at 12:30. This will be the soup they have prepared and bread offered by the SEEDLINGS group. Please bring any additional, nutritious food that your child alone may need throughout the course of the day. If you are providing a snack to share with the group, please label your items with ingredients.

Outdoor Play and Clothing
The outdoor classroom and nature walks are integral in the Waldorf-inspired experience. Children go out in diverse weather, so please dress your child in comfortable clothes that are appropriate for the weather. We also recommend bringing along or leaving an extra set of clothing for your child and rain boots.

Field Trips
Each season the SEEDLINGS and SAPLINGS may take a field trip to enhance the children’s knowledge and awareness of their community. Please refer to the seasonal Calendar of Events for more information.

Lost and Found
The Greenwood Tree Lost and Found is located in the greeting area. We advise labeling all clothes, outerwear and personal items with your child’s full name. Items that are not claimed by the end of the season will be donated to a local charity.

Class Cancellation
If class is canceled due to weather or teacher related illness, we will schedule a make-up day. If a teacher or parent-facilitator is ill, we will make our best attempt at finding a substitute to ensure that class continues as scheduled. Also see our section on ‘Cooperative and Community Emergencies’ below for additional information.

Board Meetings
Currently the Board holds their monthly meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 9:30am to 12:00pm. Meetings are held in the Conway area and are open to all participating families for observation and general comments. If you have an agenda item or a concern you would like discussed at the meeting, please contact Laurel or MaryAnn, so they can find a time to schedule your presentation/discussion. We ask that you write a brief synopsis of your intended topic and submit this so that we can fit you into an appropriate time slot. We encourage your participation in these meetings.

Bathroom Policies
SAPLINGS are expected to be able to take care of their own toileting needs. SEEDLINGS may need to be assisted or cared for by their parent or caregiver during sessions. There is a potty chair in each bathroom to accommodate small children.   Children are never shamed for accidents. The bathroom is always available: children, parents and staff may use the bathroom at any time.

Smoking
Greenwood Tree events are non-smoking events. Please do not smoke inside or outside while on Greenwood event premises.

Greenwood Tree is a Weapon Free Environment

Parent Information Table
There is a parent information table located in the greeting area. Here you will find a parent volunteer book, sign-up sheets, daily sign-in/sign-out sheet, and other important information.

Parent Education Classes
Starting out, we will be working on an online chat group for once a month meeting to discuss a chosen book. This is a developing program and if you would like to participate in its development please let us know.
